Bankstown Sports Club is committed to its local community and, though it is required by legislation to give back to the community, always exceeds the regulatory requirements.
Formed more than 50 years ago to encourage sport in the area, Bankstown Sports provides funding of around $1 million every year to about 40 local sporting groups. This funding subsidises registration fees, uniforms, ground maintenance and many other costs. From soccer to softball, from athletics to hockey, numerous sporting clubs wear the Bankstown Sports moniker with pride. You can read more about them in every issue of our bi-monthly member magazine InTouch.

The CDSE scheme is designed by the government to ensure that larger registered clubs in NSW contribute to frontline services in the local community. Under the legislation, Bankstown Sports Club is required to invest 1.5 per cent of total gaming revenue in community projects that fall into two specific categories. The first category covers community welfare and social services, community development and community health services and employment assistance activities. The second category covers other community development and support services.
Bankstown Sports has always exceeded the 1.5 per cent investment, at times giving as much as 4 per cent of total gaming revenue in a year, and will continue to do so. The club is committed to helping these and other worthy local organisations in the future.
